Yanhua Hong received the B. Sc. degree in physics from Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou, China, in 1987, the M. S. degree from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China, in 1990, and the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing, China, in 1993.
She was a Lecturer with the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing, China, during 1993–1997. Since 1997, she has been a Postdoctorate Researcher in the University of Wales, Bangor, U.K., where her research mainly includes multiwave mixing in semiconductor lasers and semiconductor optical amplifiers and polarized dynamics in VCSELs.
