Bio
Yen-Wen Lu received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2004, and the M.S. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, and the B.S. degree from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. He was a Faculty Member in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA, and later in the Microsystems Engineering Doctoral Program with the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, USA. He received several awards, including the FEAD Faculty Award and the Texas Instruments/Harvey Award. His research projects have been supported by federal agencies and industrial companies in the U.S. and Taiwan. His research interests have focused on creating micro/nanostructures on surfaces to study interfacial phenomena in two-phase flow systems, developing microelectromechanical systems-based microsurgical tools, as well as designing biosensors for agricultural applications. He is currently with the Department of Bio-Industrial Mechatronics Engineering, National Taiwan University.
