Bio
Received his PhD from Kyoto University in Intelligence Science and Technology(Robotics), IEEE Senior Member. Author of Conversational Informatics: A data intensive approach, Springer and Data Mining for Social Robotics: Toward Autonomously Social Robots both from Springer. Published over 70 international papers and 3 peer-reviewed book chapters in HRI, Data mining, and AAL. Receiver of the Outstanding Paper Award of ICCAS 2012, South Korea, the Best Paper Award of IEEE SII 2011, Japan, IEA/AIE 2009, Taiwan, and IEA/AIE 2010, Poland and the Best Presentation Award of ICIEA 2015, Japan. His research interests are data mining, time series analysis, and machine learning as applied to robotics and specially to social robotics with a focus on imitation learning and learning from demonstrations.
