Yaonan Hou

Yaonan Hou received the Ph.D. degree in condensed matter physics from the Institute of Physics, Beijing National Laboratory for Condensed Matter Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2012. He joined the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, The University of Sheffield, Sheffield, U.K., (home to National Epitaxy Facility, formerly EPSCRC Center for III–V Technology), as a Research Associate in III–V nitride semiconductor photonic devices. In 2017, he moved to the research in group IV photonic materials at Innovation for High-Performance Microelectronics (IHP), Frankfurt, Germany, as a Scientist. In 2019, he started the research in metamaterials and III–V/Si photonic integration at the Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, Southampton, U.K. His research interests focus on III–V semiconductor photonic devices (LDs, LEDs, photodetectors, and photovoltaic devices) and photonic integrated systems.
