个人简介
A simple introduction to Bing Yao
Bing Yao is a mathematical professor in College of Mathematics and Statistics of Northwest Normal University, and School of Electronics and Information Engineering of Lanzhou Jiaotong University in Lanzhou, China.
His advisors were Jianfang Wang (mathematical professor, Institute of Applied Mathematics, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS) in the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Bejing, China) and Zhongfu Zhang (mathematical professor, School of Electronics and Information Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou, China).
His research directions are: combinatorics, graph theory with applications, scale-free networks, Internet of things and topological graphic passwords. He published over 200 papers in recent ten years on the journals, such as Journal of Graph Theory, Graph Theory Algorithms and Applications, Theoretical Computer Science, Physica A, The European Physical Journal B, Information Processing Letters, Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica, Science in China Ser.A, Ars Combinatoria, Mathematics Journal and other SCI, EI journals. He is a commentator of the American Mathematical Review, also, a member of the Chinese society of industrial and applied mathematics.
He participated the research project "Graph factors and combinatorics invariants" (1992-1995) led by Professor Wang, in the project they solved the isomorphic factor problem about Cayley graphs having prime degrees and a kind of circulant graphs, and proved the total coloring conjecture for graphs having enough larger degrees, and solved a bandwidth problem proposed first by the famous mathematician Erdos.
Professor Zhang was the undergraduate thesis instructor of Bing Yao, their paper "On adjacent vertex distinguishing total coloring of graphs" published in "China Science Series A: Mathematics" was named "Chinese 100 articles of the most influential domestic in 2008". Bing Yao is the project director of National Science Foundation No. 61163054, No. 61363060 and No. 61662066. He, now, is working on transforming Chinese characters into topological structures and exploring Hanzi-topological graphic passwords.
