My research interest focuses on genetics, epigenetics and intervention of childhood obesity and related diseases. My expertise inlcuded design, statistical analysis for intervention studies, observational studies, genome-wide genetic and epigenetic studies. I have held and support annual international training programs for improving clinical study quality in pediaricians. I am familiar with the statistical issues for growth data, and effectiveness comparisons bsaed on existing patient data.

After obtaining my PhD degree of Epidemiology and biostatistics in 2004 from Fuwai Cardiovascular Hospital of Peking Union Medical College (PUMC, Beijing), my research extended from adult population to pediatric population. In order to better control of childhood obesity in the multi-ethnic populations, we established ethnic references of BMI, waist circumference, waist-to-height ratio, and age-and height-specific blood pressure. Based on the national nutrition survey data CHNs, we established the first national age- and height-specific blood pressure percentile references for Chinese children and adolescents. I have led to establishment of reference curves of peripheral vascular function (pulse wave velocity and endothelial funcation) for Chinese children population. As co-PI, I attended multicentered national epidemiological study on childhood hypertension, autism spectrum disorders, as well as multi-centered randomized intervention trial to reduce infection rate in NICUs. I am currently reviewer and statistical consultant of multiple top Chinese pediatric medical journals, and member of acedemic committees.
