Bio
Yongjoong Lee was born in Seoul, Korea, in 1965. He received the B.Sc. degree in aeronautical engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1988, the M.Sc. degree in physics from the Utrecht University, Utrecht, the Netherlands in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2000.
After receiving the Ph.D. degree, he worked on fermion number violation as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Karlsruhe until 2001. He then worked on computational magnetohydrodynamics at the University of Stuttgart from 2001 till 2004. In 2004, he joined ABB Corporate Research located in Baden, Switzerland, and mainly worked on electric arc simulations and its applications for high-power electric devices. Since 2008, he is working on the high intensity proton accelerator at Paul Scherrer Institute, Villigen, Switzerland. His current research interest includes the modeling of RF characteristics of HF waveguides under distributed particle beam loads.
