Bio
Dr. Xie received his Ph.D in Physiology in 2004 from Xi'an Jiaotong University. He received lots of awards including Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Thesis and Shaanxi Provincial Excellent Doctoral Graduate, Xi'an Jiaotong University Excellent Doctoral Degree and Thesis. Dr. Xie received the award from XiJun Zhang Foundation because of his excellent works. After graduation, Dr. Xie pursued postdoctoral training in University of Toronto and University of Florida State University. Then he worked as research associate in several north America universities including University of Tennessee, University of Western Ontario, University of Manitoba, University of Toronto, hospital for sick children. Dr Xie is interested in the studies of pain, synaptic plasticity, neurodegenerative diseases, etc, using electrophysiological, biochemical and optogenetic approaches. In the past years, Dr. Xie published over 30 peer-reviewed papers. He serves as peer-reviewer for several scientific journals including: Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Brain Behavior & Immunity, Progress in Neurobiology, eNeuro, Biochemical Society Transactions, Biochemical Journal, Bioscience Reports, Mediator of Inflammation, Journal of Pharmacology & Pharmacy, Neurological Science, Acta Pharmacologic Sina, Neural Plasticity, Frontiers in Neurology, Neuroscience Letters, Neural Regeneration Research, etc.
