Zhang Xiao

I joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Michigan Technological University as an Assistant Professor in Statistics in 2017. Before that, I have been working as a biostatistician at Kite Pharma (2016 - 2017), a research scientist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (2013 - 2015), and a research assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My research focuses on the development of novel and efficient Bayesian methods for analyzing multiple types of multivariate data with missing values. My collaborators and I have developed a number of Bayesian methods for analyzing incomplete multivariate discrete data and mixed discrete and continuous data. Our related research includes Bayesian methods for analyzing multivariate binary, ordinal and nominal data, and analyzing combinations of continuous, ordinal, and nominal categorical data with missing values. Other than my work on methodological developments in statistical analysis of multivariate data and missing data, I have collaborated with researchers from health-related fields in many applied studies.
