10. Education Interests and Accomplishments
A. Curriculum and Course Development
2015-2018. I initiated and organized a volunteer group with 12 North American Chinese medical physicists (67% of them have PhD degrees) recruited. I designed the curriculum and 20 courses of a virtual online residency program in didactic format aiming at medical physicist master or PhD students and junior clinical physicists in China. The courses were remotely taught to a group of medical physicist students in master program at Wuhan University, Hubei, China in 2015 and recorded and published online for free access. This online course series soon became and still is the most popular clinical training video classes in Chinese medical physicist community.
B. Teaching
1). Big Picture, Radiotherapy Workflow, and Interlinks between Medical Physics Courses
2). Linac Structure and Its Relationship to Clinical Practice.
Both online courses given by me were part of the 20 courses mentioned above.
D. Mentorship
Jenna King, Medical Physics Resident, 2012-2014. Successful completion of my QA raining and graduation. Currently working as a Medical Physicist at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. Barrie, ON, Canada
Niranjian Venugopal, Medical Physics Resident, 2012-2014. Successful completion of my QA training and graduation. Currently working as a Medical Physicist at CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada and as Assistant Professor at University of Manitoba.
F. Educational Activities
2011 CyberKnife Workshop Teacher. International 2nd Medical Physics Technology Seminars at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
11. Institutional/Departmental Administrative Responsibilities, Committee Memberships and Other Activities
As a member of the International Exchange Scientists Subcommittee at AAPM, I recruited and organized a volunteer group composed of 40+ Chinese American medical physicists, with 70%+ of them being PhDs, Professors, etc. During 2016 and 2018, the group did multiple activities to help medical physicist community in China, e.g., organized 300+ Chinese physicists to join international treatment planning competitions, made 15 free online courses to demonstrate treatment planning skills from top planners in China, organized 10 North American Chinese PhD physicists to voluntarily travel and give lectures at 14 hospitals in China, which was endorsed by IOMP, AAPM, and NACMPA.
14. Clinical Practice, Interests, and Accomplishments
