个人简介
I was always passionate about biodiversity and sustainability. During my PhD and first pos-doc, I was interested in the evolutionary processes influencing biodiversity in marine ecosystems. As an evolutionary biologist I was well aware of the fundamental importance of evolution to address sustainability problems and wanted to empower citizens to apply evolutionary principles to address these problems. This led to a radical change of my research field from biology to education research in 2015. This change started with the development of educational activities that explored socioscientific issues. It was during this period that I became aware of the importance of engaging educators and researchers of natural and social sciences in the development of educational solutions for changes to be effective and sustainable. In 2015 I joined the research centre in didactics and technologies in teacher training at the University of Aveiro (CIDTFF.UA). Since then, most of my research is done within the context of transdisciplinary research networks that involve academic and non academic stakeholders with diverse and complementary profiles essential to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of educational resources and solutions. This effort resulted in EvoKE/EuroScitizen (http://www.euroscitizen.eu/) networks and several publications addressing students' learning about biology and sustainability issues.
