Bio
Dr. Li’s expertise and interests include (but not limited to) additive manufacturing, smart manufacturing, nanomaterial-enabled energy systems, biological and bio-inspired materials and devices, biomechanics, micro/nanomechanics, surface engineering, and tribology.
His breakthrough work has been featured by over 1,000 media outlets worldwide including BBC, Discovery News, Science Daily, and MSNBC. His innovation on cotton textile based composites was recently selected by New York Times – Year in Ideas for Year 2010. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Transactions of the ASME - Applied Mechanics Reviews, and is on the editorial board for ten journals. He reviews papers for over 150 journals including Science and Nature series, and he was the elected chair for the TMS nanomechanical materials behavior committee
