个人简介
Dr. Wolfgang Scholz holds a PhD urban planning and worked in Tanzania as lecturer and researcher. He became Assoc.Prof. at the German University of Technology in Oman, HoD of International Planning Studies at Dortmund University, guest professor at Darmstadt University and conducts researches on resilient urban development in Manila.
Dr. Wolfgang Scholz graduated in 1992 in Spatial Planning, Dortmund University. After working in urban planning studios in Germany for ten years, he re-entered academia and received in 2006 his PhD on informal urbanization in Tanzania. From 2007 to 2009, he was DAAD-lecturer in Tanzania at Ardhi University, followed by researches on informal urbanization. In 2012, he was appointed as associate professor at the German University of Technology in Oman. From 2014 to 2018, he acted as HoD of International Planning Studies in Dortmund and in 2019/20 as guest professor for international urban development in Darmstadt. Currently, he conducts researches on resilient urban development in Manila.
He has research experience in the fields of urban infrastructure, mobility, and informal urban development in the Global South. His teaching experience covers urban design, planning theory, and theories of spatial development in both the Global North and South.
