Dr. Bienvenut research projects are related to proteomics and bio-informatics. His previous development provides an interesting approach for large scale characterisation of protein N-terminal modification and N-terminal acetylation quantitation. He is at the origin of the N-terDB which provides few thousands of experimentally characterised N-termini and experimental determination of N-terminal acetylation yield (N-terDB.i2bc.paris-saclay.fr). Collected data were valorised through the development of new predictions tools with similar but orthogonal prediction results provides by TargetP or ChloroP. Recently, W. Bienvenut moved to the Génétique Quantitative et Évolution unit (U. Paris-Saclay, INRAE, CNRS, Agro-Paris-Tech to develop an advanced methodology able to provide the large-scale determination of the protein turnover in plants using 15N metabolic labelling. Such approach will be a key component in the better understanding of biotic and abiotic plant stress resistance response.
