My interests are focused on human disease, in particular cancer. I am also interested in evolutionary theory and how it effects cell populations, and in turn patient outcomes. Having completed a PhD and three Postdoctoral positions, my current goals are to obtain a lectureship position. Long term I intent to bring evolution closer to medical and bioscience education. I will build a multidisciplinary laboratory which focuses on the evolutionary implications of chromosomal instability and aneuploidy across a range of cancers and human diseases. My educational background includes a degree in Genetics completed at Cardiff University in 2005 and an MSc in Bioinformatics, completed in 2012. I was also previously employed as an NHS Healthcare Scientist in clinical support. I performed this role for over 6 years, which involved working alongside pathologists to diagnose genetic disorders, inducing many types of cancer.
