He has worked extensively on the theories, methodology, and applications of satellite thermal remote sensing, with special foci on topics including urban thermal anisotropy, disaggregation of land surface temperature, temporal interpolation (or extrapolation) of satellite-derived LSTs, and urban heat island, which are supported by funding agencies such as National Natural Science Foundation of China and Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province.
