Bio
Walter Rocchia received the degree (cum laude) in electronic engineering in 1996 and the Ph.D. degree in molecular electronics in 2000. Then, he was a Research Scholar with the Biochemistry Department, Columbia University, NJ, USA, working on biomolecular recognition and on the inherent role of electrostatics. In 2003, he joined the Molecular Biophysics Group, Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, Italy. In 2008, he joined the Drug Discovery and Development Department, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. In 2010, he was awarded, together with Clemson University, an NIH Grant to extend the functionalities of the DelPhi Poisson-Boltzmann solver. In 2014, he created the CONCEPT Laboratory and co-founded BiKi Technologies company. He has more than 100 publications and over 4800 citations (Google Scholar, March 2024).
