个人简介
I am a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Centre for Genetic Medicine Research at Childrens' National Hospital. Under supervision from Prof Javad Nazarian and Dr Miriam Bornhost, we are establishing in-vitro and in-vivo CRISPR-Knockout models targeting on multiple molecular oncogenic markers, including NF1, CDKN2a, ATRX, and MTAP. The generated CRISPR models will served as preclinical tools in investigating the tumour transformation of low Grade Glioma into High Grade Glioma.
I obtained my Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree from University of Tasmania in 2015. I was awarded with Tasmania International Scholarship to undertook my Honours degree, aiming to investigate the efficacy of Momordica charantia in ameliorating endoplasmic reticulum stress and oxidative stress in Inflammatory Bowel Disease under the supervision of Dr Rajaraman Eri. This Honours degree, has underpinned my first research article in the BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine journal. After graduation, I worked as a research assistant with Dr Rajaraman Eri to investigate the potential of Undaria fucoidan in mobilizing stem cell populations in patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disorders. In 2017, I was awarded with the Monash Graduate Scholarship (2017- 2021) to undertake my doctoral training at Monash University and Hudson Institute of Medical Research. I commenced my research project under the mentorship of Dr Jason Edward Cain, aiming to investigate the efficacy of histone deacetylase inhibitors as differentiation therapy for SWI/SNF mutated solid tumours, including the childhood brain tumour Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumour (ATRT), and lung adenocarcinoma. After earning my PhD Degree, I worked as a post-doctoral scientist in Hudson-Monash Paediatric Precision Medicine Program, which I explore the potential therapeutic strategy in treating paediatric brain tumour.
My research has utilized clinically relevant preclinical models including cell xenograft, patient-derived xenograft and genetically engineered mouse models of cancer. In addition, I have utilized state-of-the-art molecular techniques including CRISPR/Cas9, high throughput drug screening, ATAC-seq and RNA-seq, as well as extensive cell culture and other robust in-vitro assays.
