Career Trajectory
Bio
Wei Zhao (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Anhui, China, in 1984. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in instrumentation and measurement from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2006 and 2012, respectively.
He is now with the National Institute of Metrology, Beijing, China. His research interest mainly focuses on high-voltage measurement technologies. He had designed and realized a control system, which could keep the MEMS cantilever excited at a resonant frequency in 2014. He improved the national measuring standards for high-frequency electrosurgical analyzer and defibrillator analyzer in 2016, built the national measurement standard for lightning impulse voltage, and represented China to join the Euramet-EM. S42 comparison in 2018. Currently, he is leading one National Key Research and Development Program of China, which focuses on the loss measurement for power transformers at low-power factor conditions.
