Bio
Hari Viswanathan is an expert in subsurface flow and transport modeling and is a Senior Scientist with the Earth and Environmental Sciences Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has worked across multiple scales to study subsurface flow and transport in porous media. He has more than 100 publications in the area of energy and global security with an h-index of 33 with 3237 citations and has large multidisciplinary projects such as reducing the water footprint of hydraulic fracturing operations. He has worked on a wide range of applications such as nuclear waste disposal, carbon sequestration, unconventional oil and gas, and nuclear nonproliferation. He received the advanced B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1993, and the advanced M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in environmental engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1995 and 1999, respectively.
