I received my PhD degree in 2009, which was interested in the study of reproductive strategies of pathogens. Then during my postdoc, my research focused on different aspects of the evolution and ecology of host-pathogen interactions, such as human genetic polymorphisms involved in resistance to infectious diseases, the evolution of viruses in African great apes and genetic relationships between parasites infecting humans versus those infecting non-human great apes. Since my recruitment in 2015 at the CNRS as a researcher, I am developing a research project on the evolutionary history and genetic adaptation of Plasmodium vivax, the major cause of malaria outside Africa with tens million of cases reported each year allover the world.
