Bio
I am an Oceanographer with Master degree in Chemical Oceanography. I am currently doing my PhD analyzing the carbon stock in mangrove soils of northeast Brazil. Specifically, I am trying to understand the impacts of how shrimp farming activity affects carbon stocks in coastal areas (Blue Carbon).
I believe understanding carbon stocks in coastal areas is important because it relates to global warming and to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
In the longer term, I hope to contribute with ecologically-sound management of the shrimp production, along with the recovery of mangrove vegetation.
