个人简介
Dr. Vincent Tidwell is a Chief Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He has over 30 years of experience conducting and managing research on basic and applied projects in water resource management, nuclear and hazardous waste storage/remediation, collaborative modeling, and multi-sectoral dynamics. Currently he is leading several studies that are helping local, state and federal entities understand and adapt to issues of water, energy and climate change. Dr. Tidwell is leading a multi-laboratory initiative supporting the Western Electricity Coordinating Council, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Western States Water Council, and the Western Governor’s Association to integrate issues of water and climate into long term electricity transmission planning in the western U.S. He is working with local universities to support rural farming communities (acequia irrigated farms) to achieve greater resilience to climate change and urbanization. He is leading a new project to model the role of climate change on human migration and conflict. He and colleagues are combining critical infrastructure protection models with climate integrated assessment models to evaluate the resilience of our nation’s infrastructure to climate change. Dr. Tidwell is also a Lead Author for the Land-Water-Energy cross-sectorial chapter for the 2013 National Climate Assessment and supported preparation of the Southwest Regional Chapter.
