Associate Professor Victoria Kain has expertise as a scholar and practitioner specializing in neonatal nursing, a highly specialized field intersecting nursing and midwifery. Notably, she took the initiative to establish and co-edit the inaugural neonatal textbook for nurses and midwives in Australia and New Zealand, published by Elsevier. This textbook has become the primary academic resource for neonatal and midwifery curricula in both countries. In the initial edition released in 2018, she authored 6 out of 25 chapters, while her contributions expanded to 11 chapters out of 25 in the subsequent edition released in 2022.
Over the course of her career, Victoria has actively participated in influential roles within neonatal nursing circles. Victoria's dedication to advancing the field of neonatal nursing is also evident through her editorial roles. Recognizing the significance of her work, the Laerdal Foundation awarded upon her a competitive grant in 2022 to support her vital research in these countries.
In recognition of her accomplishments and leadership capabilities, Victoria is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy based in York, UK.
