Topic of research: From ethnomedicine to modern phytotherapy: parasites and secondary bacterial infections in pigs. The aims of the research are:
1. Identifying plants with potential antiparasitic, antibacterian and immunomodulatory effect (Artemisia absinthium, Tanacetum vulgare, Achillea Millefolium, Radix Inulae, Thymi Herba, etc.). In vitro and in vivo testing;
2. Identifying cost-effective feeding strategies in pigs in order to reduce the parasite burden, maintain intestinal health and sows and piglet well-being;
3. Elaboration of a plant-based feed supplement.
