个人简介
Venkatesh Sundararaman completed his B.E in Mechanical Engineering (2009-2013) at Anna University, Chennai. In his bachelor’s thesis, he investigated the vibrational behaviour of magnetorheological sandwich beam using finite element methods. He then worked as a project assistant at IMEMS lab (Integrative Multiscale Engineering of Materials and Systems Group), Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India for a period of one year (2014-2015). His research was focused on the fabrication and characterization of carbon nanotube (CNT) and piezo-electric based strain sensors for structural health monitoring applications. He also investigated the potential of piezoelectric coatings for vibrational energy harvesting applications.
He then moved to VIT University, Vellore, India to complete his M. Tech (2016-2018) in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. He also worked as a mechanical engineering intern (2017-2018) in the MICT (Molecular Imaging & Computed Tomography) division of GE Healthcare, India to complete his master’s thesis where focused on the optimization of CT gantry and its sub-components. He then worked as a senior engineer (2018-2019) in VDDV division (Virtual Design, Development & Validation) at General Motors Technical Center India, Bangalore, India where he worked on the development of micromechanical models for closed cell foams using commercial finite element packages.
He then moved to Varicomp Group, Bernal Institute at the University of Limerick, Ireland to pursue his PhD (2019-2023) under the supervision of Prof. Paul Weaver. Currently, he investigates the use of composite structures for morphing applications. He is also a visiting PhD student (2019-2023) at Bristol Composites Institute, University of Bristol, UK where he completed his coursework along with the cohort (2019) of Advanced Composites PhD. He also collaborates for his research with Dr. Isaac Chenchiah, senior lecturer in the School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol and Dr. Matt O’Donnell, senior lecturer in Structures and Composites at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK.
