Bio
Vedad Hulusic is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Creative Technology Department, Faculty of Science and Technology at Bournemouth University. In addition, Vedad served as the Output Champion for UoA11 (Computer Science and Informatics) in the preparations for REF 2021. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Télécom ParisTech in Paris, France, and as an Assistant Professor at the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK, and a first degree in Computer Science from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has a long-standing interest in serious games, digital cultural heritage, XR technologies, assistive technology, and UX in which he has been a published author.
He is currently running a research project with Noho Ltd, Dublin exploring the multi-user Extended Reality (XR) experience in collaborative cultural heritage applications. He was a PI for a HEIF (Research England) funded project "Feeling the UNfelt (FUN): Assistive Technology accessible digital environments with a haptic interface". He participated in two large-scale EU projects and a number of small- and medium-scale research projects.
Vedad is the recipient of the Vice Chancellor Scholarship, University of Warwick, UK, and three awards for the best paper at internationally recognised conferences. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
