个人简介
Vasco Ramos is a sociologist with a PhD from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (2015). Currently, he is an Assistant Researcher at ICS-UL, working on a project entitled: "Food in Transition: Changing Food Practices during Critical Life Course Transitions." His research interests are multiple, focusing primarily on issues such as social inequalities, class, and social mobility. He has worked in the fields of family sociology and the sociology of consumption. Since 2009, he has been involved in several projects at ICS-UL, namely a research project on family trajectories and social networks, coordinated by Karin Wall. Later, as a postdoctoral researcher, he was a member of the Portuguese team working on the ERC-funded research project "Families and Food in Hard Times". In 2017, he obtained an individual post-doctoral fellowship from the FCT to develop a research project entitled "Living with Uncertainty: Enduring Precariousness over the Life Course." Lastly, he was a researcher at CLAN, conducting ethnographic work with children and pets, with an interest in understanding how specific categorizations of non-human animals relate to food practices and preferences. At ICS, he is a member of the LIFE Research Group (Life Course, Inequality, and Solidarities: Practices and Policies) and OFAP (Observatory on Families and Family Policy). He is an elected member of the Scientific Board and a former member of the Ethics Board.
