个人简介
Vanik Kakoyan received his master's degree from Yerevan State University in 1974; PhD from the Yerevan Physics Institute in 1991 and continued his studies in the field of experimental nuclear physics at the Yerevan Physics Institute (now - A.I. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory, AANL); JINR, Dubna, Russia; CERN, Switzerland; Jefferson Laboratory, Newport News, USA. He is a Leading Scientific Researcher at AANL. He has published over 50 articles in reputable journals. His current research interest is in ultrafast photon detectors and optoelectronic devices. Supervised Master theses. 1997-2000: Lecturer, Yerevan State University; 2009- 2012: teacher, Quantum College, Yerevan.
Participation in Collaborations and Experiments:
1974 - 1991: JINR (Dubna, Russia) collaboration to treatment of film information from bubble chambers of JINR. Was a key person of development and exploitation of the automatic system based on the measuring devices operating on-line with the minicomputer for processing of photographs data from the bubble chambers. Based of study of π- meson characteristics in dC interactions defended the PhD thesis entitled “Investigation of the π - – Meson’s Production Processes in the Interactions of Deuterium whit Carbon and Beryllium at Energy of 1 GeV per Nucleon” in 1991.
1991- 1999: Experiments on the Yerevan Electron Synchrotron. Was the author for the development and operation of the DAQ and online monitoring systems for a Two-Arm Time-of-Flight mass spectrometer devoted to the investigation of the photonuclear fission processes.
1999 - 2013: ALICE (CERN, Switzerland) collaboration. Was the author of the development of a multi point geometric monitoring system (GMS) for the ALICE muon spectrometer, Monte Carlo simulation of GMS, the development of a muon survey scheme for determining the initial position of tracking chambers in the ALICE muon spectrometer, and the calculation of actual positions of tracking chambers using the data of photogrammetry measurements.
2012 – present: GlueX (Jefferson Lab., USA) collaboration. Is one of key persons to design, development, implementation and commissioning of the experimental control system within the EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) framework of the GlueX detector components in Hall D at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (USA).
Since 2018: Current interests focus on the production, testing and applications of the Radio Frequency Photo Multiplier Tubes and the timing technique. The aim is to develop, manufacture and test a modern scientific device based on the GHz Radio Frequency circular scanning system of electrons with a time resolution of a few picoseconds. This new timing technique will be used in various fields of science and technology.
