PhD in Food Science. Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy of UTAD, coordinator of the Master's degree in Agronomy and integrated member of the Center of Chemistry - Vila Real (CQ-VR). Following a specialization in aroma chemistry at the Department of Food Science and Technology at Cornell University in the United States and at the Estação Vitivinícola Nacional (INIA-EVN), the main areas of research interest are the study and the characterization of food aroma and the changes that occur during its processing. Following a previous training in plant ecotoxicology at the Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, other areas of interest are the influence of environmental variables on plant composition and the role of volatile compounds in insect-plant interactions.
