Bio
Victor José Ferreira is a chemical engineer from the University of Carabobo / Venezuela (2000) and has a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Porto (2013). Victor Ferreira focused his research activities in the field of materials dedicated to promoting clean energy and technologies for sustainable products. In his first research stage, he developed and tested oxide material to purify hydrogen-rich currents through the redox process. Then, during his PhD, he studied and characterized the oxide materials capable of converting methane into value-added products through the oxidative coupling of methane.
Currently, his main research line of activity is related to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Costs (LCC)) at the Institut de Recerca en Energía de Catalunya (IREC) to contribute to the circular economy and Eco-designs of energy technologies, which objective is to optimize materials, processes, energy consumption and treatment at the end of life considering the useful life of products, processes and services from an environmental, economic and social point of view.
During the last 5 years, he has also carried out his professional activities in R & D & i and industrial activities focused on the fields of Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Environmental Analysis and the development of innovations in alternative materials (intelligent materials) for energy storage systems for several industrial processes framed under national and European projects related to the intensive energy industry and agro-industrial sectors. He taught for over 5 years in the area of engineering chemistry processes, analytical chemistry and in the experimental area (laboratory of analytical chemistry and organic). He is author and co-author of several scientific papers published in international journals.
