Bio
Tatsuya Usuki (M’96) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph. D.
degrees from the Department of Applied Physics, Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 1986, 1988, and 1991, respectively.
He joined the Fujitsu Laboratories, Ltd., in 1991, where he has been involved in research on semiconductor physics and
development of novel electron devices. From July 2005 to March 2009, he was a specially appointed Professor with the
Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo, Komaba, Japan. Since May 2010, he has been a Chief
Researcher with the Photonics Electronics Technology Research Association, Tsukuba, Japan. He is a member of the Japan
Society of Applied Physics, the IEEE Electron Device Society, and American Physical Society.
