个人简介
Our current research focuses on how mammalian cell growth and cell cycle are regulated by the transcription factor LSF, and how dysregulation of LSF activity drives oncogenesis, particularly of liver cancer and colorectal cancer. For both of these cancer types, of high unmet medical need, elevated levels of LSF coincide with worse prognosis and patient survival. We have developed highly specific small molecule inhibitors of LSF that are highly promising as chemotherapeutics for LSF-driven cancers, as demonstrated in mouse models of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a prevalent cancer worldwide with limited treatment options. HCC demonstrates oncogene addiction to LSF, as demonstrated by these inhibitors.
