The focus is to identify key mechanisms of type 2-driven diseases such as asthma, allergy, and rhinitis with respect to immunology at barriers, translational research and innovative options for non-invasive diagnosis, prevention and therapy. We aim to uncover new biomarker pattern of the upper and lower airway epithelium and the related crosstalk to systemic and local (nasal and brochial) immune cells in different matrices (e.g. induced sputum, nasal brushings, peripheral blood, and tissue).
