Tyson Valentine Sharp

I obtained my PhD from St. Georges, University of London. After two postdoctoral positions in The Netherlands and USA, I returned to take up a Senior Research Fellow position at the Institute of Cancer Research in London and then UCL. I then moved to the University of Nottingham to set up my independent research group. From there I relocated to BCI. My research group is interested in many aspects of both the molecular biology and physiological relevance of LIMD1 and its family of LIM-domain contains proteins in cellular homoeostasis and cancer biology. Two of the main areas of interest are how LIMD1 is a critical scaffold and therefore regulator of both microRNA-mediated gene silencing and also the HIF-regulated hypoxic response in both normal and neoplastic cells and tissue.
