Bio
Tsang-Wu Liu received his M.D. degree from the National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1981. He completed the medical oncology/Hematology fellowship training in July 1989 from the Department of Internal Medicine, National Taiwan University Hospital and Academic Sinica’s Medical Oncology Fellowship Program (program director: late Professor Paul Carbone). Dr. Liu is the investigator and currently serves as the Deputy Director of the NICR, NHRI, Taiwan.
Dr. Liu became deputy chairman of Advisory Committee (AC) in 2004, leading the Investigational New Drug (IND) from 2005 to 2008, and then he became the chairman of the Advisory Committee to Bureau of Pharmaceutical Affairs (BPA). Invited by Bureau of Health Promotion (BHP, now Health Promotion Administration), Dr. Jacqueline Whang-Peng and Dr. Liu develop the Accreditation System for cancer care program in Taiwan since 2005, and Dr. Liu is the principal investigator of this project since 2008. Another project Dr. Liu have spent effort is the Project of Developing and Monitoring Core Measurement Indicators for Cancer Screening and Treatment which utilizes the Taiwan Cancer Registry Database and the hospital report data to monitor the quality of cancer care in Taiwan, and to provide recommendations to Health Promotion Administration.
