个人简介
Dr. Copeland-Johnson is a materials scientist with a background in chemical engineering. She has a diverse portfolio of research experience spanning chemical processes and materials development, including thin-film photovoltaic devices, hydrogel scaffolds for tissue repair, syn-gas production, materials in extreme environments, and industrial lubricants. During her graduate studies, she was awarded a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Technology Research grant, a National GEM Consortium Ph.D. fellow sponsored through the Nuclear Science & Technology department at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), and recipient of a 2019 American Society for Nondestructive Testing Fellowship Award. In 2021, Dr. Copeland-Johnson was awarded a Glenn T. Seaborg Distinguished Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), investigating the molten salt corrosion mechanisms of structural alloys. She currently resides as a Materials Research Scientist at INL in the Characterization and Advanced Post-Irradiation Examination division. She has presented 3 invited talks, 20 conference presentations, and published 3 peer-reviewed articles. She currently has 9 peer-reviewed articles in draft culminating her current contributions to research on enhancing the fundamental knowledgebase for atmospheric corrosion mechanisms of accident tolerant claddings, irradiation of aluminum spent nuclear fuel cladding alloys, and molten salt corrosion mechanisms of structural materials to aid in future informed qualification for molten salt reactors. Dr. Copeland-Johnson has also served as the chair and vice-chair for the User Executive Committee for the BNL Center for Functional Nanomaterials, a Department of Energy Nanoscale Science Research Center, and has been an active member of the National Organization for the Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers for almost 10 years.
