个人简介
Toshihiko Kanazawa (M'10) received the M.S. and D.S. degrees in geophysics from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1973 and 1980, respectively.
He was awarded a Researcher Associate position in the Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo, in 1978. He became an Assistant Professor in 1990. From 1995, he worked as a Professor at the Earthquake Research Institute (ERI), University of Tokyo, and between 1997 and 2010 he was Director of the Earthquake Observation Center in ERI. He retired in 2010, and worked as a Project Professor until October 2011 in ERI. Currently, he is a Chief of the Ocean Bottom Seismic and Tsunami Network Laboratory, National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention (Research Fellow), Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan. He developed a self-popup-type ocean-bottom seismometer that is widely used in Japan. His recent interests are the new ocean-bottom cable system that enables a dense seismic observation, and geodetic observations at the seafloor, a spatial gravity measurement using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV).
