Bio
Tomris Cesuroglu is a medical doctor working on public health genomics and personalized health care for over 15 years.
She received her MD from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey (2002). She worked at United Health Systems Consultancy (BSS) (Istanbul) in various areas including health care systems and policies, and health care quality. She worked in establishment of GENAR Institute for Public Health and Genomics Research in Ankara (2004) with a high-throughput genotyping laboratory, a unit for lifestyle and nutrigenetics research, and a unit for personalized medicine and pharmacogenetics. She was GENAR’s Research and Development Coordinator, working on personalized health care models, genetics of complex diseases, and public health genomics. Her experience covers research, development and implementation in those areas. She is a founding member and the vice president of the Turkish Society for Public Health Genomics and Personalized Medicine (TOGEN, 2005).
She was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship in 2011 to carry out further research on practice models in personalized health care at Maastricht University. She worked on integration of personalized medicine and health care practices into health systems.
She is currently a researcher at Athena Institute, VU Amsterdam university, working on integration of innovations into health systems and global health.
