Bio
Prof. Tommaso Macrì received his PhD in 2011 at SISSA in Trieste (Italy). He worked for two years at Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden (Germany) as a guest scientist. In 2014 he obtained a joint postdoc position between QSTAR institute in Florence and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Munich. Since March 2015 Tommaso has joined the Physics Department at UFRN in Natal as a Physics professor.
Tommaso's research activity focuses on the physics of ultracold atoms. His main interests are strongly interacting long-range systems (Rydberg atoms, dipolar atoms and polar molecules) for their applications to quantum technology and quantum simulation. He also studies the dynamics of relativistic models with ultracold atoms confined in optical lattices.
