Bio
Post-doctoral researcher with keen interest in NMR method development for biological and physicochemical applications.
My primary research area during my PhD was using existing and developing novel solid-, solution-state, as well as HR-MAS NMR spectroscopic methods to probe the structure, interaction and dynamics in multi-component polysaccharide systems, such as drug-delivery materials, soft tissues, and and plant cell wall analogues.
My post-doctoral research has focused on developing novel, spatially resolved NMR methods for probing dynamic processes in living systems, such as diffusion, transport and interactions in bacterial and mammalian cells, as well as using mathematical modelling to better predict their progression and outcome. In-cell NMR, cell-cell interactions, bacterial respiration and fermentation, drug diffusion out of intramuscular and subcutaneous injection implants.
Over the past few years, I have gradually developed an avid interest in the area of multi-domain membrane proteins, and the use of NMR/MRI spectroscopy in elucidating conformational changes involved in their function.
