个人简介
Ting-Hsuan Chen (Cecil) received his B.S. degree (2003) and M.S. degree (2005) from National Tsing Hua University and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (2012). His research interests include Micro/Nanotechnology, Bead based biosensor, Tissue morphogenesis, and Cell mechanics. Dr. Chen has been spearheading an array of multidisciplinary projects addressing the pattern formation of self-organizing biological systems. He has made a fundamental discovery of cellular left-right symmetry breaking of vascular stem cells and successfully exploited this finding to engineer intricate patterns of tissue architecture. This work has a major implication for tissue engineering, cardiology disease and cancer. His recent researches include the in-vitro development of cardiac tissue culture, platforms for measuring cell mechanics, and nanotechnologies for development of visual assay for biomolecules such as nucleic acids or botulium neural toxin.
