Tim is a materials scientist largely focused on energy storage systems within the Interfacial Processes Group (IPG) in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division. His work encompasses aqueous, non-aqueous, and solid-state batteries, with an emphasis on characterization of batteries during synthesis and operation using synchrotron x-ray methods largely at the Advanced Photon Source. The work is funded through DOE in both Basic Energy Sciences, Vehicle Technologies Office, and Office of Electricity with additional projects funded by DOD and industry and has resulted in over 100 publications.
