Tim Begley is the Director, Division of Analytical Chemistry in the Office of Regulatory Science, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The current food safety research programs in this division are on subjects related to gluten detection (a cause of celiac disease), allergen detection, seafood toxins, milk protein detection, non-targeted MS detection, DNA barcoding of seafood and plants, direct food additives, contaminants in foods, general food adulteration and economic fraud, PFAS, and migration from food packaging.
