Bio
I am a wildlife biologist interested in human-wildlife coexistence. I study both the influence of people on wildlife, and the influence that wildlife has on people. I have a soft spot for small carnivores, work mostly with mammals, but am generally interested in all wildlife. Furthermore, I have a strange interest in parasites and diseases, urban ecology, citizen science and social aspects related to wildlife.
I obtained my PhD at Wageningen University on the ecology of ticks and tick-borne pathogens. After that, I moved to the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences were I study the effects of humans on wildlife community composition and ecosystem functioning as well as attitudes towards and perceptions of local wildlife.
