Bio
I joined Wits University in 2017 from the University of Strathclyde Glasgow (UK). I was appointed a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Liverpool (UK) on completing of my PhD in the same Department in 1993. I studied for my MEng in Civil Engineering at the University of Birmingham (UK) after which I worked in London for a year with Beazer Construction as a Graduate Engineer. I carry out leading-edge research on urban water and environmental systems to develop novel simulation and optimization methods. A paradigm shift has been achieved by pioneering pressure-dependent modelling of water distribution systems with financial support from the UK EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council). I am a member of the NRF (National Reseacrh Foundation) peer-review panels (Communities of Practice and Engineering Standing Panel) and the Editorial Boards of several peer reviewed international journals and conference series.
