Career Trajectory
Bio
Torsten Schmidt received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University Chemnitz, Chemnitz, Germany, in 2005.
He is a Research Associate at the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Technical University Dresden, Dresden, Germany. Up to this time, his research was focused on the theoretical description of electronic transport in transition metal aluminides. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a Fab Quality Reliability Engineer at Advanced Micro Devices, Dresden. There, he was responsible for the development and application of transistor reliability tests like TDDB, NBTI, and HCI. Further, he gained expertise in the design of corner experiments and its statistical analysis. Since 2008, he has been with the Technical University Dresden in the fields of network analysis, systems theory, and signal processing. His main interest lies in the analysis of nonlinear circuits using analytical methods like Volterra Series. With this methods, he made a sound progress in the description of single memristor networks.
