个人简介
I currently work in research analytics and data science.
More broadly, my research has covered topics across analysis of large, noisy datasets (both as networks and as multidimensional spaces), evolutionary bioinformatics (especially proteins that have been incompatible with traditional sequence analysis methods), quantitative measures of evolvability and convergent evolution, and protein engineering via experimental evolution and manipulation of sequence-function relationships.
My other great love is science communication, illustration and data visualisation. For science communication and outreach, I help to run several initiatives that bridge the wikipedia-academia divide. In addition to data visualisation in my own research, I also produce illustrations for popular science books and for Wikipedia.
