Bio
Thomas F. Watson received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW, Australia, in 2015.
He demonstrated key technical steps towards building multi-qubit devices with phosphorus donors in silicon using a scanning tunneling microscope at the University of New South Wales. From 2015 to 2018, he held a post-doctoral position at the Vandersypen Lab, Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, where he demonstrated the first quantum algorithms running on a silicon spin quantum processer. In 2018, he moved to Intel as a Research Engineer working on using Intel’s industrial fabrication capabilities to scale up spin qubits to build quantum computers.
