Career Trajectory
Bio
My research career began in Swansea University where I specialised in hypersonic CFD simulations for applications in astronautics. After achieving a 1st class BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering, I am now studying for a DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford, where I received a full 4 year research scholarship.
My topic of research at Oxford is a combination of computational, aerospace and materials engineering. The initial research proposal involves the development of an explicit code to include multiscale modelling of stress wave propagation and behaviour of titanium/hybrid material. This will mean creating a new three-dimensional multi-scale adaptive method for explicit formulation, to accurately model impacts on specific materials. The solver (written in C) will then be applied to aerospace scenarios, in conjunction with Rolls Royce.
